Mary Street Dental Staff

Born and bred in Brisbane, Ross followed a strong family tradition (being the third Galloway brother to graduate from Dentistry at Qld University in 1985) into dentistry. After working in Melbourne and the UK he returned to his hometown and established Mary Street Dental.

Being the principal dentist of the practice, Ross has guided the Mary Street team over the years to make MSD one of the most respected dental practices in Brisbane.

Ross enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a particular focus on  “crown and Bridge” and high tech dentistry.  He attends regular courses and lectures to keep abreast of the latest the dental world has to offer and so that he can offer a high level of dental care to his patients. Ross established one of Brisbane’s premier dental study groups with the aim of maintaining superior dental education.

Ross’s wife Paula helps at the surgery and he has 3 very active school age children that absorb most of his spare time. When able, Ross enjoys travel, reading, running, tennis, rugby, skiing, cricket and golf. (albeit golf is currently more of a dream than reality!)

Malcolm Campbell graduated from the University of Queensland in1984 and has been at Mary Street since 1997- prior to that Mal worked in the Hospital Based Dental Service, within the School Dental Service and has worked overseas. Mal was also a Dental officer in the Australian Army Reserve for almost 15 years. Mal's main area if interest is in Special Needs Dentistry particularly in the care of elderly and medically compromised patients.

Mal is married to Andrea and they have three children. Outside Mary Street Dental, Mal also manages a specialized Mobile Dental Practice, with the aim of providing on-site general dental treatment to residents of Aged Care Facilities. Mal is also involved with Government and Teaching groups in developing better delivery of dental services to this largely neglected group in our population.

Mal's other interests include maintaining the family farm and being a chauffer for his three children.

Originally from Ballina NSW, Melissa joined our team at Mary Street Dental in March 2011 and has become known for her gentle and caring approach. Melissa completed her Bachelors Degree at The University of Queensland and is dual qualified as both a Dental Therapist and Dental Hygienist. Since graduating, Melissa has gained valuable experience in general dentistry and the specialist field of orthodontics.

Melissa is very passionate about volunteering her time within the community and has been involved in the Buddhist Compassion Relief - Tzu Chi Foundation’s Refugee Dental Fair, and Homeless Dental Service Day.

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys running and yoga.

Silvia Malancioiu completed a Bachelor of Applied Science, Oral Health at University of Queensland in 2003. This qualifies her to work as a Dental Hygienist and Oral Health Therapist.

Originally from Romania, Silvia arrived in Australia 17 years ago. Her first years were exciting and challenging: learning a new language, understanding and adapting to a new culture while raising her two children. It was through her casual job in a cosmetic surgery that Silvia realized that a career in health would bring her personal satisfaction.

At Mary Street Dental, together with the rest of the team, Silvia provides a warm, welcome environment for our patients and tailors her dental hygiene treatment and education so to obtain and maintain patient’s oral health.

After work, Silvia enjoys reading and spending time in activities involving her children.

I have been part of the Mary Street Dental team since November 2008 and as one of the newest staff members I have been welcomed warmly into the family.  My role is coordinating your appointments and accounts. I strive to provide you with the best customer service and make you feel at ease.  

In my spare time I keep myself busy as a Girl Guide Leader.  I love travelling and look forward to seeing more of the world in the coming years.

Since joining the team in June 2007 I have formed strong friendships with the girls and look forward to coming to work each day. I coordinate the maintenance to keep our practice running smoothly.  I strive to continue my education on dental procedure to provide you with the best possible care.

In my spare time I like to catch up with my friends over a good meal and a cocktail.  I hope to go to America in the future after catching the travel bug on my recent cruise.

Most of you probably know me or have seen me around as I have been working with Ross and Mal now since May 2004. I coordinate your dental treatment and oversee the training of new staff. I pride myself on being part of a team that provides quality and honest dentistry.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and my dog Jack.  In the future I'm hoping to finish renovating my house.

I’ve been a Dental Assistant at Mary Street Dental now since February 2008; I work with both Ross and Mal, coordinating dental treatment for our patients. I pride myself on being a team player and enjoy coming to work to spend time with our staff and patients. I am currently furthering my studies by obtaining my Certificate III in Dental Assisting.

In my spare time I enjoy having fun outdoors.  I love the beach and go as often as I can.  In the future I hope to buy a house and do some travelling.

I joined the team at Mary Street Dental in December 2005. Since joining the team I have enjoyed all aspects of the practice & have developed great friendships. My role in the practice is to coordinate your dental appointments and the processing of accounts. I pride myself on overseeing all aspects of the front office procedures, to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently.  I strive to provide our patients with an efficient and relaxed dental visit in a friendly team working environment.

In my spare time I enjoy hanging with family and friends enjoying a meal and glass of wine and keeping fit.  In the future I look forward to spending many special times with my daughter and husband and share many family holidays together.

I am the newest of the Mary Street Dental team, joining in 2009. I look forward to learning more about the practice and further connecting myself with the Mary Street Dental family.  I work with both Ross and Mal, coordinating dental treatment for our patients. I am currently furthering my studies by obtaining my Certificate III in Dental Assisting.

In my spare time I enjoy quality time with my friends, catching a movie and chatting for hours.  In the future I hope to live and travel around Europe.
